Biography
21 Nov. 1819–1 Sept. 1893. Printer, compositor, newspaper editor, painter. Born in Verona, Oneida Co., New York. Son of Waldo Littlefield and Mercy Higgins. Moved to Pontiac, Oakland Co., Michigan, between 1830 and 1834. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1834. Participated in Camp of Israel expedition to Missouri, 1834. Moved to Far West, Caldwell Co., Missouri, Aug. 1836. Moved to Quincy, Adams Co., Illinois. Worked in printing offices of various newspapers in Missouri and Illinois. Married first Olive Andrews Kingsley, 16 Feb. 1840, in Adams Co. Moved to Rushville, Schuyler Co., Illinois. Moved to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois. Worked as compositor for Times and Seasons. Excommunicated, 27 May 1842. Church membership reinstated, before Apr. 1843. Ordained a seventy, by Apr. 1843. Served missions to Alabama and Clinton Co., Illinois, 1843. Married second Adaline Amarilla Hamblin, 31 Jan. 1846; later divorced. Served mission to Great Britain, 1847–1848. Moved to Kanesville (later Council Bluffs), Pottawattamie Co., Iowa, 1848. Migrated to Salt Lake Valley, Sept. 1859, and settled in Battle Creek, Utah Co., Utah Territory. Moved to Salt Lake City, by 1870. Moved to Smithfield, Cache Co., Utah Territory, before 1893, where he died.
