Biography
1813–29 Mar. 1884. Grocer, government official. Born in Lincoln Co., Kentucky. Moved to Independence, Jackson Co., Missouri, 1834. Elected county coroner, Aug. 1836, and justice of the peace, 1837. Served in Seminole War. Married first, by June 1840. Served as Jackson Co. sheriff, 1840–1844. Appointed to transport JS to Missouri, June 1843. Represented Jackson Co. in Missouri Senate, 1844. Married second Martha W. Haynes, 16 Oct. 1849, in Independence. Represented Jackson Co. in Missouri House of Representatives, 1852. Married third Mary Ward, 1 Sept. 1859, in Independence. Died in Independence.
