Biography
14 Jan. 1810–17 Aug. 1900. Farmer, miller, stock raiser. Born in Egremont, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts. Son of Ezekiel Noble and Theodotia Bates. Moved to Penfield, Monroe Co., New York, 1815. Moved to Bloomfield, Ontario Co., New York, ca. 1828. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1832. Participated in Camp of Israel expedition to Missouri, 1834. Moved to Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio, by 1834. Married Mary Adeline Beman, 11 Sept. 1834, in New York. Appointed member of First Quorum of the Seventy, 1835. Received elder’s license, 7 Apr. 1836, at Kirtland. Served mission to southern Ohio, 1836–1838. Stockholder in Kirtland Safety Society. Moved to Far West, Caldwell Co., Missouri, 1838. Moved to Montrose, Lee Co., Iowa Territory, 1839. Served as counselor to Bishop Elias Smith in Montrose. Moved to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, 1841. Served as bishop in Nauvoo Fifth Ward, beginning 1841. Member of Nauvoo Masonic Lodge. Commissioned second lieutenant in Iowa territorial militia, beginning 1841. Appointed quartermaster sergeant in Nauvoo Legion, 3 June 1842. Participated in plural marriage during JS's lifetime. Migrated to Salt Lake Valley, 1847. Resided in Bountiful, Davis Co., Utah Territory. Moved to Montpelier, Bear Lake Co., Idaho, by 1900. Died at Wardboro, Bear Lake Co.
