Biography
4 Oct. 1787–21 Sept. 1881. Born in New Hampshire. Son of Samuel Rogers and Hannah Sinclair. Married Martha Collins, 5 Dec. 1811, in Montreal, Lower Canada. Moved to Pomfret, Chautauque Co., New York, by 1820. Moved to New York City, 1830. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Parley P. Pratt, 25 Dec. 1837, in New York City. Ordained a teacher by Parley P. Pratt. Moved to Far West, Caldwell Co., Missouri, Sept. 1838. Moved to Quincy, Adams Co., Illinois, Nov. 1838. Ordained an elder by Lyman Wight, Apr. 1843, in Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois. Ordained a seventy by George A. Smith, Oct. 1844, in Nauvoo. Appointed president of Thirty-Fourth Quorum of the Seventy, 5 Feb. 1846, in Nauvoo. Moved to Oskaloosa, Mahaska Co., Iowa, by 1850. Migrated to Salt Lake Valley, 1852. Moved to Provo, Utah Co., Utah Territory, by 1860. Served mission to eastern U.S. and Canada, 1854–1856. Died at Provo.
